New Yorker & jazz musician Yoichi Uzeki likes nothing than to ride the subway and take pictures on his way to concerts.
Yoichi certainly uses his composition skills when it comes to taking transportation pictures. We profile him and his great work (should that be works?) in issue 2 of Off the Tracks On Jazz "I can't actually categorise my style. I should never do so. Category is something that the record companies make up." Yoichi has recored with Ornette Coleman, Jamaladeen Tacuma, and Pharaoh Saunders and has played with Saunders, Najee and many more... On Transport Photography "I always carry my camera with me... sometimes I may spend the whole day shooting. I tend to get better shots when I commute. I am thinking about a photo exhibition sometime in the future..." www.yoichiuzeki.com
